Default split custody legislation
Scale back the Divorce industry and save tax payers millions
Three states have default split custody legislation. This legislation states that if there is a custody dispute brought before the court, the default judgement is split custody The caveat that brings this to the table for all voters lies in the family court budget. Delaware family court budget is around $30 million annually With split custody legislation the family court budget could conceivably be split in half saving tax payers $15 million annually Al you are paying for is hearings and court orders and I can prove the court orders aren’t even enforced. This also scales back on the emotional damage that often is produced in a custody battle.
Parental fraud legislation
hold both parents equally responsible in the crucial role of raising children
if a woman tells a man that a child is his and the man produces support for the child in the form of time or money for a period of more than thirty days, and the man finds out the child isn’t his, the woman will be charged with felony fraud and face up to three months in prison. A man has no way of keeping track of what a woman does. A man is also held legally liable under penalty of incarceration for the care of a child in the form of child support, It is only just that a woman be held equally liable for placing a man in fraudulent legal burden.
These matters also don’t even begin to address the psychological trauma that a man experiences when he finds out a child isn’t his. This law won’t just affect the “baby mama drama” but could also have implications in marriages. The statute of limitations on this would last until the child is 18.
Require family court judges to run for election
If they are making some of the most important decisions of our children’s lives, we should at least get to choose who gets the job. The elections will also create public forums on what decisions the Judges have made in the past.
Make a violation of a family court order a criminal offense
When a parent is denied time with there children, they are robbed of the most precious moments of their child’s lite and their own lives. These are days that pass and they will never get back If someone faces legal consequences for Inflicting that loss, it will drastically decrease the possibility of it happening.
Make child support delinquency a criminal offense
change the system to eliminate the opportunity for family court corruption
Child support is currently a civil matter. It became apparent in my experience that the court wasn’t making decisions, but rather just doing whatever my ex wanted them to do when she wanted them to do it. There was no consistency in frequency of judgement of violation. When I made them aware that I could prove their corruption I didn’t hear from them for over a year. This is a horrible way of handling matters before the court. A parent could be making decision purely based on emotion and this almost completely destroys the honor of the institution.
By making child support delinquency a criminal matter it forces the court’s hand when law says and sentencing guidelines eliminate the ability for family court commissioners to be corrupt the way they were with me.
Opioid epidemic
Protect the public from the effects of drug addiction and protect addicts from their own addiction
The opioid epidemic has been a nightmare for our communities but it is made more tragic by the fact that watching people go through this has become normal. My daughters have been watching people nod off for their entire lives. The current cost of living crisis is being made worse by the theft addicts commit. While I was in jail I heard one man talking about how he used a self check out kiosk to steal $400 worth of groceries. When that happens the store has no choice but to pass the loss on to paying customers which likely inflicts a higher inflation rate that isn’t formally monitored.
There are millions of parents that have to live on the edge of terror as they know they may soon get the news that their child has overdosed. If elected I would propose treating overdoses as suicide attempts and responding to them accordingly. A person who attempts suicide is monitored for a period of time in a medical facility. An addict off the streets for two weeks would be a relief to the communities they affect. Here in the second senate district the motels on route 9 are notorious for crime and drug activity. I would also propose using emanate domain to seize one of the hotels, citing the opioid epidemic, and build an addiction treatment facility in the motel’s place.
Healthcare
universal healthcare is possible if it is done right
I do agree with the concept of universal health coverage. The truth remains that the very first thing every human being needs when they enter the world is to see a doctor. This is true whether you believe life begins at conception or birth. The concept of modern government is to provide for some particular needs of the people. The government has to be given some power to accomplish these task. The people need security and this accomplished by way of the police and the military. The people need infrastructure and we have roads, water systems and an electrical grid. As previously mentioned, everyone needs to see a doctor.
We live in the richest country that has ever existed. That is why we have things like Medicare, Medicaid, and social security. We already engaged in a crappy version of universal health coverage. The affordable care act came about because there was a crisis of sky rocketing health care cost. The problem was originating with people who didn’t have medical benefits. If a man got into a bad car accident and had to go the hospital, get treatment for a week and mounted $50,000 in medical bills but couldn’t pay, the cost was spread around to everyone who did have benefits. This drove everyone’s healthcare cost up. The A.C.A. Increased the amount of people with medical insurance by 12 million which alleviates the pressure to some extent, but in a country of 328 million, 12 million is minor movement of the needle.
If a universal health coverage system is instituted, one of its main attributes would have to be that it is primarily run by legitimate medical professionals. Perhaps a board of five medical professionals and two political appointees. I will acknowledge that when government gets its hands on something it has more power and more potential to create serious problems. I am intrigued to see how a universal health coverage system can be implemented in a small state like Delaware. But there are ways to drastically reduce the necessity for medical care. Teaching children early how to maintain healthy bodies through out their lives. I would include more intensive study into modern fitness science. Exercising at least three times a week. The science involved with protein shake, creatine, fish body oil, etc. the value of pristine dieting. Understanding what foods promote healthy hormone regulation. Even the value of proper rest in a training cycle. What impact can hyperbaric chambers can have for people that aren’t pro athletes.
I would break life down into four sections. The first twenty years your body is developing and you are chocked full of energy. The next twenty the body strengthens to your optimal point in the early to mid thirties with a valuable mix of energy and strength. The third portion of twenty years, the body doesn’t decline but people often settle into life and get into a life style that doesn’t promote good health. The fourth portion of life, 60-80, aging sets in and the body is in decline. This is where the vast majority of health care cost is established. If a person spends the first sixty years keeping their body healthy, the last twenty won’t be so wrought with health decline and that would decrease medical cost for everyone in a system everyone is already paying into one way or another.
Housing
scale back the disastrous effects family court policy has had on our lives
If I manage to gain momentum with this campaign and people pay attention to it, they may get tired of hearing about family court reform, but I have realized how impactful this entity has been on our society. The primary driving force behind the high cost of housing is simple supply and demand dynamics. There aren’t as many houses as people are trying to buy and it is drives up what houses are available to buy. This reality has also affected the rental market, and that has hit people who haven’t even moved from where they were seven or eight years ago.
A Pew research study had shown that the U.S. had the highest divorce rate in the world, but the divorce rate had dropped because people just stopped trying to get married. Now where two people once lived there is only one person. And now there aren’t as many houses on the market. You can not destroy the institution of Family in this country and not expect there to be massive consequences. However I do not see fit to use government to try to fix the problem, because government involvement in people’s family matters is what created the problem. It is best for family court’s influence on our society to be as withdrawn as possible so people handle their own lives on equal ground.
Gun Control
scale back the disastrous effects family court policy has had on our lives
In 2018 there were a series of school shooting incidents with the most high profile being parkland Florida. When I first saw the news of it I went into a state of deep thought that was heavy with anxiety. Are my children going to get murdered going to school? Brief thoughts of home schooling and various alternatives shot through my head and a few days later I had came to the conclusion that I support the second amendment but if it went away, I understand why. I love my children more than I value my freedoms.
After nearly four years of a chaotic normally and turbulent on a quiet day of the Trump presidency, the George Floyd protest were in full swing. President Trump wanted a photo op in front of a church and peaceful protesters were tear gassed so he could have it. And nobody important cared. For me, that was an eyebrow raising experience. Maybe I had gotten comfortable with a few years absence of a high profile shooting incident but I was back to being a pro 2A thinker. I think I have a valid argument when I say the pages of human history are mostly written by the people who craved power. Just ask the Ukrainians. It is legitimately inevitable that someone will come to the conclusion that their view or their belief is the only one that matters and they will force that ideology onto, maybe onto everyone else. But the U.S. government is specifically formulated to establish and preserve personal freedom. It is designed to prevent tyranny. By force if necessary. But there is a heavily contentious debate about all of this.
Gun crime is a thick vein in American society. Year after year it never stays out of the news cycle for long. The primary policy goal of my candidacy is family court reform because of what I have experienced as a father, and the communities that are impacted hardest by gun violence are the communities most notorious for fatherless homes. You can not destroy the institution of family in this country and not expect there to be massive consequences. Fathers demand respect in their home and they will teach their children to be so from a perspective of loving them. I was sitting in jail earlier this year and I heard a line in Tyler Perry movie where Madea said kids are out in the streets killing each other because they have no respect for each other.
Getting rid of all the guns doesn’t fix the problem. You need to understand why people want to murder each other so much. If society was normally this violent, the second amendment would have never existed to begin with. This is the lack of wisdom Delaware Democrats have always seemed to manage the state with. They do not seek to govern the people. They are political activist with power. This is one of the biggest reasons why so many black communities remained in shambles generation after generation. Maybe Trump isn’t the answer but at least some black people are thinking about this.
